Adult Programs
  Adult Volleyball
    On Tuesday nights from 7pm-9pm the YMCA Gymnasium will be open for Member Volleyball. Those age 16 and over can come, divide up into teams and play games. You must be a YMCA member to come and participate.
  NBA (Noon Basketball Association)
    Wanting to get some exercise during the noon hour but tired of the same old exercise routine. You’re welcome to come and play basketball. For guys who are looking to play pick up basketball every Tuesday/Thursday over lunch. Just show up and we will divide into teams and play.
  Old Timers Basketball
    On Monday nights from 7pm-9pm half of the YMCA Gymnasium will be open for a Member Basketball league. League is for those ages 30 and over. Guys will divide up into teams and play games. You must be a YMCA member to come and participate.
  Scrapbooking
    Our goal is to preserve, create, and celebrate memories. Beginners will learn basic scrapbooking methods. Other scrapbookers can work on current projects. Class will meet each Tuesday 1:30pm-4:30pm in the Community Room. Class will be lead by Ann Burns.
  Scuba
    Get your PADI scuba certification. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to scuba dive, discover new adventures or simply see the wondrous world beneath the waves, this is where it starts. The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world’s most popular scuba course, and has introuduced millions of people to the adventurous diving lifestyle. You will learn to use the basic scuba gear including a dive computer and standard accessories. Some personal equipment that will be required is a mask, fins, snorkel, boot. Contact Ozark Dive Company for equipment needs. The cost is normally $350. Since Ozark Dive Company is providing the training at our YMCA they are conducting the class for $300/person.


Aquatics
  Arthritis Water Exercise
    Classes are designed to help those with arthritis in a water exercise setting. Instructors are certified through the Arthritis Foundation. Classes are offered M/W/F 9am-10am and 10am-11am.
  Deep Water Aerobics
    Water Aerobics will be taught in the deep water area of the pool. Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday 12pm-1pm.
  Fun, Fit, and Fin
    Water Exercise program that features fins, water walking, and toning exercises. Tuesday and Thursday from 4pm-5pm. Participants will need to purchase their own fins.
  Member Swim
    Member Swims are a time when you and your family can enjoy the indoor pool with other Y members. The slide will be open during all Member Swim. For member swim times please check the pool schedule.
  Swim Lessons
    The YMCA has a comprehensive swim lesson curriculum from babies to adults. Swim lessons will begin in March and be offered at 5:15 and 6:00pm. Class will be on Tuesday/Thursday for 45 minutes. Check with the Welcome Center for detailed times and classes.
  Water Noodles
    Class uses water noodles to build strength and tone your body. Tuesday and Thursday 5pm-6pm and Saturday 9am-10am.
  Water YoLates
    Class mixes water with traditional Yoga and Pilates exercises. Monday 7pm-8pm and Saturday 10am-11am.


Child Care
  After School Child Care Program
    Do you need somewhere for your child to go after school is out? Why not try our after school program. This program is open to children in Kindergarten through 6th grade. The YMCA will provide quality, well trained staff to supervise your children and plan daily activities. The children will participate in arts & crafts, sports & games, homework time, and we provide a nutritious after school snack. There will be a minimum of 1 staff person to every 12 children. The school district assists with transportation from any of the Sikeston Public Schools. This is the twelfth year we have operated this state licensed program. Nationally the YMCA is one of the largest child care providers in the United States. We promise to provide a quality program that will cater to the needs of both parent and child.   Wee Care Nursery
    YMCA staff provides a caring and nurturing place for children ages 6 months to 7 years old while parents are using the YMCA facility. Y staff are trained to help your child get the most out of his or her stay. Hours: Mon – Fri 8:00am-12:00pm Mon – Thurs 4:00pm-8:00pm Saturday 8am-11am


Fitness
  Beginning Spinning
    Class is designed for individuals new to spinning. Learn the basic principles involved in the stationary cycling class such as heart rate training zones, terminology, and techniques. Class is on Tuesday and Thursday at 6:00-6:50 am. Instructor: Stephanie Poindexter
  Cardio Combo
    A high intensity workout combining high and low impact aerobics, kick box, step aerobics, and weight training skills. This class incorporates intense abdominal work with upper and lower body strength training. Class meets M/Th 6:00-7:00 pm and Sundays 4:00-5:00 pm. Instructor: Mary Lynn Alcorn.
  Cardio Groove
    A high intensity aerobics dance class. This class incorporates hip hop, latin dance, and other fast paces forms of dance. Class will begin February 3rd. Class will be on Wednesday 6pm and Sunday 3pm. Instructor is Mandy Newton.
  Circuit Training
    Class designed for beginner and maintenance exercisers. Class will use a variety of floor, stretching, weight training, dance aerobics, and other low impact exercises. Class meets M/W/F 8:30 – 9:30 am. Instructor: Linda Harris.
  Climb Class
    Staff will teach members specific climbing techniques. Included in the class is top roping, knot tying, belaying, bouldering, and route climbing. Competitions involving different climbing techniques will be utilized. This class is for 8-16 year olds. Class will be on Tuesdays from 6pm-7pm in the Youth and Family gym.
  Exergaming Class
    Staff will teach members how to use Exergaming equipment most effectively. It is a new form of exercise obtained by playing video games that require movement and interaction on all different levels. Kids will use physical activity to participate. Competition involving the games makes this class enjoyable for all skill levels. Class is for 8-16 year olds. Class will be held on Thursdays from 6pm-7pm in the Youth and Family Gym.
  P.A.C.E. (People with Arthritis Can Exercise)
    This is a non-traditional exercise program for those with arthritis or other physical problems that prevent them from participating in typical exercise programs. The instructor is certified though the Arthritis Foundation. Class meets M & W 10:00 – 11:00 am. Instructor: Brenda Freed from the Scott Co Health Department.
  Personal Training
    Qualified fitness trainers will lead you through a one-on-one workout. You will get personal attention throughout each session to ensure you perform all exercises safely and effectively. An introduction to the program includes 4 sessions for the price of 1. Personal training incorporates weight training, aerobic conditioning, plyometric exercises and sports conditioning. Personal training sessions are designed to meet your goals and progressively increase your fitness level. Sessions are scheduled by appointment. Contact Kenny Stone to register and schedule your appointment. Cost is $35 for an individual and $50 for a couple. Consultations are available at no cost.   Silver Sneakers
    Special low impact class designed to improve muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand held weights, elastic tubing and exercise balls are used for resistance and strength training, and a chair is used for seated and or standing support. Class meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00am -11:00 am. Instructor is Kenny Stone.
  Spinning
    Instructors will lead participants though this unique fitness program which utilizes stationary cycling techniques. All fitness levels are welcome. John Klueppel instructs the Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5:10-5:50 am class. Debbie Wilson instructs the Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6:00-6:50 am class. Sally Lape instructs the Monday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:10-5:50 pm. class.
  Step of Faith
    Half bible devotional, half step class. The first 30 minutes of the class is a bible study. The last 30 minutes of the class is a moderate to high intensity step class. Class begins August 26. Class will be on Wednesday from 5:00pm - 6:00pm. Instructor is Tina Ahlfield.
  Stretch It
    This class is a low intensity/low impact stretching class. The purpose of the class is to gently and gradually increase your flexibility through stretching techniques. All major muscle groups will be stretched in this hour long class. Class will meet Monday, Wednesday, Friday from 11am-12pm in the multi purpose room. Instructor is Mary Shepherd.
  The Mix
    A moderate intensity workout combining aerobic dance, step aerobics, and weight training exercises. This class is designed for intermediate exercises. Class meets Tuesday and Thursday from 5:00-5:50pm in the aerobics room. Instructor is Lisa Old.
  Walking Club
    Looking for a place to walk indoors this winter? Come in from the cold and enjoy our brand new elevated walking track. Our new track is 1/13 of a mile in length of a rubber track type material. Log your miles on the track and become eligible for prizes!
  Y Pump
    A weight based group fitness program. This class is performed using barbells, plate weights, and an aerobic step. A combination of compound and isolation-based exercised are incorporated to exercise every major muscle group. Class meets on Tuesday, Thursday at 6pm in the YMCA MultiPurpose Room. Instructor is Cindy Hart. Tuesday, Thursday at 5pm Instructor is Melissa Fitzgerald.
  Yoga Pump
    Several forms of yoga and pilates are combined in this comprehensive class. Various stretches and poses are combined in a fluid format to strengthen the body with an emphasis on the core muscles. Class is on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am-10am. Instructor is Melissa Fitzgerald.
  Yo-Lates
    Class incorporates techniques used in yoga and pilates. This class incorporates stretching and core exercises. Class meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:15 – 7:15 pm. Class is free to YMCA members. The instructor is a YMCA certified Group Exercise Instructor and YogaFit Level II instructor. Instructor: Tina Ahlfield.


Special Events
  Active Older Adults Brunch
    On Wednesday, April 14th we will have an Active Older Adults Brunch at 11:15 am. Come and join us for a time to get together with others for brunch. We will have a presentation after we eat. The brunch will be a PotLuck!! Bring your favorite dish and let’s enjoy!!
  Birthday Party- Exergamming
    How about a birthday party with a fitness twist? Book your party now and enjoy our new Youth and Family Gym. Our staff will lead you and your guests through rock climbing and exergaming activities. A room will be provided for cake and presents. Contact Chris Hodgkiss. Two weeks advanced notice is required. $60/Members $80/NonMembers
  Birthday Party- Pool
    Looking for somewhere to have a birthday party this winter? Try our new indoor aquatic center. Each two hour party includes time in our party room for cake, ice cream, presents and more. It also includes an hour in the pool for fun and games. Parents will supply all the food, cake, and decorations. For more information or to schedule a party, contact the Aquatics Center. Two weeks advanced notice is required. $80/Members $100/NonMembers
  Kids Night Out
    Overdue on your date night? Just looking for a night off? On Friday, March 26th bring the kids to the YMCA for “Kids Night Out” and enjoy a relaxing evening on your own. Drop off begins at 5:00pm and participants must be picked up by 8:30pm. We will feed and entertain your child during those hours. Kids will be broken down into 3 age groups. 6 months - 3 years old will play and have fun in the nursery. 4-6 year olds will be in a group and 7 and up will be in a group. Registration fee includes pizza and drinks and some exciting YMCA games. Be sure to mark you calendar. Must be a YMCA member to participate. Must be registered by March 19th. Registration Fee: $10 advanced registration/child $25 max for family


Youth Sports
  Girls Basketball
    This program is for girls in K - 7th Grade. The focus of this league is to teach basic fundamentals of basketball, sportsmanship, and to have fun. Practices begin March 1st. Practices will be held on Mon, Tues, and Thurs after 5pm. Games will be held on Saturdays between 9am -2pm beginning March 13th. Cost for the league is $20 for members and $40 for nonmembers. Registration for the league is February 8th - 19th. We will have a coach’s meeting at the YMCA on Wednesday, February 24th at 6pm.
  Spring Soccer
    This is a soccer league for boys and girls in Pre K - 3rd Grade. The purpose of the league is to teach kids the basic skills and fundamentals of soccer. Our league will also put an emphasis on sportsmanship and how to play team soccer. Registration for the league is February 8th - 19th. We will have a coach’s meeting on Thursday, November 25th at 6pm at the YMCA. Practices will begin the week of March 1st.. Cost for the league is $20 for members and $40 for nonmembers. Games will be held on Saturdays between 9am -2pm beginning March 13th.
